Which published THC range covers more Animal Face tests?
SeedFinder's 20–30% range covers the largest share of Animal Face tests, 73%; the lone single THC figure from Leafly gives 30%, which only 8.1% of tests reached, above the 24.49% lab median.1,3,4
The three range claims covered very different slices of the lab set: 20–30% from SeedFinder contained 73% of tests, while 25–30% from Weedmaps contained 39%.1,3,5
These comparisons do not identify any specific jar; the relevant number for a purchase is the batch certificate of analysis.

Is Animal Face really led by β-myrcene?
No: Animal Face was rarely led by β-myrcene; β-caryophyllene led 87% of 157 individual-terpene tests, while limonene led 9.6% and β-myrcene led 3.8%, making the lead consistent.1
Leafly names myrcene as dominant for Animal Face, but lab tests do not match that claim: β-myrcene led 3.8%, compared with 87% for β-caryophyllene.1,4 The Leaf Magazine claim points to caryophyllene; the tests line up, with β-caryophyllene leading 87%.1,7
All 157 terpene tests came from Nevada, so the percentages mainly describe Nevada flower rather than a broad state mix.1
| Terpene | Tests where it led | Share of tests |
|---|---|---|
| β-caryophyllene | 136 | 87% |
| Limonene | 15 | 9.6% |
| β-myrcene | 6 | 3.8% |

Which strains match Animal Face's terpene mix?
The closest terpene-mix matches for Animal Face are Wedding Cake, Gelato and Gushers: within the 36-strain comparison, their overlaps are 91%, 91% and 91%; Durban Poison, led by terpinolene, is the lowest match at 37%.1
We convert each strain's median levels for eight terpenes into shares of their total, then compare the shared portion of both mixes; identical mixes score 100.1 Only strains with at least 30 individual-terpene tests enter this comparison, and Animal Face contributes 157; this is a chemistry comparison, not a prediction of how a strain feels.1
| Strain | Overlap | Lead terpene (by median) | Tests with terpenes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wedding Cake | 91% | β-caryophyllene | 1,388 |
| Gelato | 91% | β-caryophyllene | 371 |

| Triangle Mints | 91% | β-caryophyllene | 42 |
| Sherbet | 90% | β-caryophyllene | 193 |

Do labs report very different THC for Animal Face?
Yes: Animal Face shows a wide lab-to-lab THC spread, with medians among 6 labs that had at least 20 tests running from 20.73% at Lab C in Nevada to 30.47% at Lab B in Maryland, a gap of 9.74 points.1
Labs test different growers' flower, so the gap does not prove a lab reads high; it shows how grower, market and lab can all sit behind the label number. The lab labels are anonymized on this page, with “Lab A” assigned to the lab with the most tests; the downloadable test file names the labs.
| Lab | State | Tests | Median THC | Share at 20% or more |

Is high-THC Animal Face more aromatic?
Chemically, yes: higher-THC Animal Face carried more total terpenes by weight, with tests at or above 26.84% THC showing a 3.23% median versus 1.92% for tests at or below 23.01%, a terpene-median gap of 1.31 points.1
The same direction held in 2 of 2 states with at least 30 paired tests: Nevada up and Maryland up.1 By weight, total terpenes measure aroma compounds; the comparison does not address effects.
| Tests from | Tests | Lowest-THC third | Highest-THC third |
|---|---|---|---|
| All states | 200 | 1.92% | 3.23% |
| Nevada | 157 | 1.69% | 2.32% |
| Maryland | 43 | 3.21% | 3.59% |

Did Animal Face get stronger in Nevada?
No in Nevada, although Animal Face rose overall: across qualifying years, median THC went from 24.51% in 2020 (58 tests) to 29.98% in 2023 (51), for an overall change of +5.47 points.1
The state-fixed view reverses it: in Nevada, the median moved from 24.51% in 2020 to 19.58% in 2022; the state change was −4.93 points.1 That means the overall rise is partly about which states supplied enough tests in each year.
We exclude any year below 20 tests.1
| Year | Tests | Median THC |
|---|---|---|
| 2020 | 58 | 24.51% |
| 2021 | 57 | 23.52% |
| 2022 | 134 | 21.33% |
| 2023 | 51 | 29.98% |
